Richard Langridge has been named as the new chairman of West Oxfordshire Conservative Association.
He takes over from Christopher Shale, who was found dead at the Glastonbury music festival in June. An inquest last Tuesday found he died from heart disease.
Mr Langridge, who is West Oxfordshire District Council’s cabinet member for local economy and communities, said he was delighted to be elected, but added: “I am deeply sorry to have done so in such tragic circumstances.”
