BETWEEN 1939-45 some 55,000 men died in Bomber Command, to keep this country free.
Long overdue, a memorial is to be built in their memory.
But oh dear, PM David Cameron says the cost must include thousands in VAT.
I don’t think that even former PMs Tony Blair or Gordon Brown would stoop so low.
Why not a levy on Cabinet ministers? They can afford it and could even fiddle it on their expenses.
If it has to be paid, those young men died in vain.
