BICESTER’s oldest building will once again open its doors to local artists for its third annual art exhibition.
About 20 professional, semi-professional and amateur artists from Bicester and the surrounding area will exhibiting paintings and other work St Edburg’s Church, Church Street, from Monday.
The event will run until Saturday, October 8, when there will also be a craft fair with more than a dozen stalls showcasing local crafts such as jewellery, silverwork and hand-made cards.
Organser Colin Cockshaw said: “We’re delighted that we can stage this art exhibition and the craft fair at the church as it shows the potential of this building for a whole range of community events.
“It’s a magnificent setting for displaying the work of local artists.
“We hope people will come and enjoy, and hopefully buy, some of the work on display.”
The exhibition is open from 2pm to 5pm on Monday, 11am until 5pm on Tuesday to Thursday, 11am to 8.30pm on Friday and 10am to 5pm on Saturday.
Entry is free, but donations can be made towards the restoration costs of the church.
