An 18-year-old man is recovering after being stabbed outside an Oxford pub on Monday night.
Two men have been arrested following the incident, which happened by the Blue Mile pub in Cowley Road, Littlemore.
The victim was taken to hospital with puncture wounds for which he required stitches.
His injuries were not life-threatening and he has now been discharged from hospital.
It is not yet known what sort of weapon was used in the attack, but police do not believe it was a knife.
DI Simon Morton, of Oxford CID, said: "It would not appear to have been a knife as the victim suffered puncture wounds. We think a screwdriver or some kind of blunt object might have been used in the attack."
Anyone with information is asked to call Thames Valley Police on 0845 8505 505 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
* Two men, aged 18 and 17, were arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm and assault causing actual bodily harm, and were released on police bail.
