The Conservatives swept the board in a by-election for a town and district council seat in North Bicester Melanie Magee won the Cherwell District Council seat with 443 votes.
Second was Kevin Walsh, Labour, with 130 votes and Liberal Democrat John Innes got 99 votes There was a 13.9 per cent turnout.
The town council seat was won by Mrs Magee’s husband Dave with 370 votes. Tony Walton, who stood as Independent Against Bicester Eco Town, got 140 votes, while Mr Walsh got 114 votes and Mr Innes 60. The turnout was 14 per cent.
There are about 4,911 eligible voters in the North Bicester ward.
The seat became vacant after the death of popular councillor Carol Steward.
