A 31-YEAR-OLD prisoner has been found hanging in his cell in Oxfordshire, the Prison Service said.
Hilary Sanyika was found hanging by prison officers at Bullingdon Prison, near Bicester.
Paramedics were called and tried to revive him but he was pronounced dead 30 minutes later.
Sanyika, a Zimbabwean national, was in prison on remand awaiting trial for rape.
A Prison Service spokesman said: "Police, the coroner and his next-of-kin have been informed.
"The prisons and probation ombudsman will carry out an inquiry, as with all deaths in custody.
"Every death in custody is a tragedy and our thoughts are with the family and friends of Mr Sanyika."
