YOUNG directors from Oxford and Cherwell Valley College in Banbury were commissioned to make short films for Network Rail and First Great Western.
Some of the films were historical, while others were about the journey the students make to and from college every day.
Damien Homer, media production teacher at OCVC, said: “The students have been great and handled this task really well. We are always keen to work with employers and give the students real life experience.”
The winning film was created by Autumn Edwards Hayer and Roshni Sabberwal.
It told the story of rail travel through a montage of archive images.
Ms Sabberwal said: “It was a proud moment for me. It feels good to win.”
