The Leafield-based Super Aguri F1 Team joined the official Formula One test at Silverstone to start its final preparations for the forthcoming flyaway races that mark the end of the 2006 season.
Sakon Yamamoto was in the driving seat of the SA06 yesterday. He completed 36 laps in the morning whilst running through the team's planned aerodynamics and electronics programmes.
In the afternoon, Yamamoto ran through a series of brake tests and started the team's Bridgestone tyre programme. He completed a total number of 53 laps for the day and set a fastest lap time of 1:24.349.
Yamamoto will continue the testing duties today, while Takuma Sato will join the team at Silverstone in the afternoon.
