MEXICAN artist Abraham Cruzvillegas took to the streets of Oxford on his new mobile sculpture constructed from a tricycle.
With impressive mirrors and a sound system blasting out whistling noises, Mr Cruzvillegas reckoned other cyclists in Broad Street did not quite know how to handle his new work of art.
He said: “The whistling sounds can be a bit annoying. It is based on music I listened to when I was a child in Mexico City, with some new songs from Oxford bands. People were very curious but found it interesting visually.”
The tricycle will be featured in a major exhibition of his work at Modern Art Oxford (MAO) running until November 20.
Verity Slater, of MAO, said: “It will be on display. But we intend to take it out onto the streets about once a week.”
Mr Cruzvillegas worked in Oxford over the last year.
