Crowmarsh v Garsington, U12, League A, 25th September, Bullcroft, Wallingford.
First Half: From a Crowmarsh kick off, an early attempt on goal from Josh Burtenshaw (Crowmarsh) was deflected off a Garsington player for a corner. Josh Burtenshaw took the corner, placing the ball in the box onto the head of Max Taylor who scored, putting Crowmarsh one goal up after five minutes.The rest of the first half saw both teams have numerous opportunities. Garsington number 17, Charlie Burton, was called off side shortly after a shot at goal that went wide of the goal. He followed this shorty after by another shot, missing and leading to a goal kick. Aiden Bellis (Crowmarsh) received the ball and after a short run , shot, rebounding off the goal post. Josh Burtenshaw weaved down the right wing and tried to slot the ball past the Garsington keeper, Jake Pritchard, who saved it. Garsington then put the pressure back on Crowmarsh with a couple of shots from no.15 Declan Clerkin, saved by the Crowmarsh keeper, Matt Carr. A tackle late in the first half, just outside the Crowmarsh box, gave Garsington a free kick, blocked and cleared by Crowmarsh. At the end of the first half the match was looking as if it could go either way. First half score Crowmarsh 1, Garsington 0 Second Half: The second half started with Crowmarsh's Aiden Bellis passing to Daniel Sefton whose shot, deflected by Garsington, went off for a corner, giving Crowmarsh another shot at goal which went wide. Shortly after, a cross in from the wing to Daniel Sefton on the left allowed him to score Crowmarsh's second. In response Garsington made a break down the right wing and a run from their number 11, Joe Ryan, ended with a shot just wide of goal. Crowmarsh's third goal came when Luke Chuchill (Crowmarsh) intercepted a ball played back out of the Garsington box by their defenders, lobbed high, over the keeper and into the back of the net. Crowmarsh's fourth came when Jordan Langrish (Crowmarsh) making a run up the left wing and, despite being intercepted twice by Garsington players, retrieved the ball and slotted it through to Daniel Sefton, who put it in the back of the net. Crowmarsh's fifth goal was scored by Aiden Bellis who received the ball from a corner. The pressure now on Garsington to score, a free kick awarded against Garsington, not converted and further shots from James Wilcox (Crowmarsh) headed but deflected off the post and a further shot from Daniel Sefton went over the bar. Garsington started to make a comeback, late in the second half with another break down the right wing by number 11, Joe Ryan, who took it all the way, shot and scored, the ball reaching the back of the net under the Crowmarsh keeper. Time was running out for Garsington. Oliver Bird passed to Aiden Bellis in the box who had two shots, blocked by Garsington. Garsington's number 11 was back in action with what looked like a repeat of his first goal but as he shot and looked sure to score, as he had caught the Crowmarsh keeper off his mark, Louis Harding (Crowmarsh) raced in and cleared the ball. With less than a minute to go, Jordan Langrish moved the ball through to Daniel Sefton who scored giving Crowmarsh their sixth goal in the last minute.
