THERE are no active lines of inquiry into an arson attack on a McDonald’s restaurant in August, police said last night.
A 26-year-old man arrested over the fire at the London Road restaurant on August 9 will not be charged with any offence.
A petrol bomb was flung through a window as staff locked up for the evening.
Last month it was announced that a 16-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man arrested on suspicion of arson had also been released without charge.Det Sgt Matt Jarman said: “A full investigation has been completed into the arson at McDonald’s on August 9 and we have worked hard to try and identify the person responsible. While every effort is made to solve a crime, this is not always possible if the evidence is not available to us, and this is the case with the arson at McDonald’s.”
Anyone with any information should call 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
