A FAMILY-RUN service station which has only been open for nine months after a multi-million pound redevelopment, scooped five industry awards in a single evening.
Members of the Fraser family found themselves split between two award ceremonies at top London hotels but were celebrating after picking up the clutch of trophies for Yarnton Service Station.
Development manager Nick Fraser said: “We have put in a lot of time, effort and money to get it up to standard, so it was wonderful to be recognised like this.”
The Fraser Group, founded in 1954 by Bob and Lallie Fraser in Rowstock, owns seven sites, four of them in Oxfordshire, and completely redeveloped the Yarnton premises last year.
It now includes a BP forecourt, an expanded post office, off-licence and Subway sandwich shop, employing 30 people. The business also stocks a range of foods from about 20 local suppliers including Dedding`ton-based butcher The Meat Joint and bread from La Patisserie of Kidlington.
Last week it won the title Best Forecourt with a store over 1,000 sq ft at the Retail Industry Awards and four titles at the Forecourt Trader Awards, including Best Customer Service and Best Forecourt Facilities.
