A TASTE of the tropics is set to breeze into Oxford this winter.
The production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s South Pacific will be at the New Theatre in December.
Starring Samantha Womack, who plays Ronnie Branning in EastEnders, it features a cast of 40 and classics such as Some Enchanted Evening and Happy Talk. It tells the tale of two couples who are stationed at a naval base during the Second World War.
Ms Womack, who plays Nellie Forbush, said: “I had heard about this incredible production in New York and am honoured to be a part of this wonderful show. I am a massive fan of Rodgers and Hammerstein.”
The musical begins its run in Oxford on Tuesday, December 6, and finishes on Saturday, December 31.
Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased from the box office in George Street, by calling 0844 8713020 or by visiting newtheatreoxford.org.uk
