ALAN Studholme definitely has a reason to crack open a bottle of beer.
The 55-year-old from Kidlington had been named winner of The Oxford Beer Festival logo competition.
His winning design will now be used to advertise this year’s festival. It was chosen by the membership of Oxford Campaign for Real Ale (Camra), which organises the festival.
They were presented with 15 cases of beer between the three of them at the Wychwood and Brakspear Brewery in Witney.
Helene Augar, chairman of the Beer Festival planning committee, said: “It was the simplicity of Alan’s logo and the image of the ox that won it.”
The Oxford Beer Festival, which is in its 14th year, takes place between Thursday, October 27, and Saturday, October 29, at Oxford Town Hall.
It will showcase some 160 beers from around the country as well as a number of ciders and perries.
