These two dancers needed more than one cabinet to store their trophies.
Donna Coppock and Tracy Drewett, both 11, had accumulated scores of them in the five years they had appeared on the dance floor.
When this picture was taken in 1979, they were preparing to add more to their collection at the British Ballroom Cham-pionships at Blackpool.
The girls’ most recent success had come at the Seymour Hall in London where they beat 180 other competitors to win the junior section of the Superdance Old Tyme Championship.
That triumph led to an appearance on the BBC children’s television show, Blue Peter.
Donna Coppock, of Windmill Road, Heading-ton, and Tracy Drewett, of Godstow Road, Wolver-cote, were described by their teacher, Terry Marsden as “among the top three pairs in Britain”.
