Sedad Dawood, 36, of Coniston Avenue, Oxford, admitted shoplifting a pair of jeans and a jacket valued at £69.91 from Gap in Oxford on February 18. Fined £200, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £150 costs.
Calum Marshall, 19, of Bow Bank, Longworth, admitted failing to comply with the requirements of a community order by failing to work as instructed on March 27 and May 8. Unpaid-work requirement removed and an ‘Attendance Centre’ requirement of 21 hours added.
Joshua Chainey, 19, of Britwell Road, Watlington, convicted of failing to comply with the requirements of a community order by failing to attend unpaid work on April 3. Given a four-week curfew and told to pay £125 costs.
Allan Pande, 29, of Evans Lane, Kidlington, admitted causing wasteful employment of the police by knowingly making a false report that a BMW had been stolen on January 4. Given 200 hours’ unpaid work and told to pay £500 compensation and £250 costs.
Carolyne Bosworth-Waite, 33, of Newman Road, Oxford, admitted shoplifting food worth £11.42 from Sainsbury’s in Oxford on May 16. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay £50 costs.
Lynda Hawes, 67, of Worminghall Road, Oakley, Aylesbury, admitted driving a vehicle in Waitrose car park, Thame, while unfit through drink. Fined £500, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £80 costs. Banned from driving for 30 months.
Daniel Ryan, 24, of Iffley Road, Oxford, admitted shoplifting two magazines from W H Smith in Oxford on May 31 and commission of a further offence while subject to a suspended sentence. Jailed for 50 days.
Stephen Cooney, 42, of Speedwell Street, Oxford, admitted shoplifting a brown leather jacket valued at £119 from Zara in Oxford on May 15. Given a 12-week curfew and told to pay £80 costs.
Victoria Arthur, 38, of Mortimer Road, Oxford, admitted shoplifting a bottle of perfume valued at £55 from Boots in Oxford on May 2. Also admitted failing to surrender to court bail on June 1 and commission of a further offence while subject to a conditional discharge. Fined £50, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £90 costs.
Matthew James, 29, of Speedwell Street, Oxford, admitted shoplifting two iPods valued at £326 from Western Computers in Oxford on March 7, three tubs of whey protein and three containers of creatine valued at £156.44 from Holland and Barrett in Oxford on April 11. Also admitted breaching a conditional discharge by commission of a further offence. Original offence of shoplifting champagne from the Oxford Wine Company resentenced. Given a six-month drug-rehabilitation order and 12 months’ supervision. Also told to pay a total of £245.22 compensation and £85 costs.
Trevor Francis, 32, of Asquith Road, Oxford, admitted shoplifting meat valued at £50 from Co-op in Marston on December 28 and shoplifting three babygrows valued at £20 from Matalan in Oxford on May 10. Given a six-month drug-rehabilitation order and 12 months’ supervision. Also told to pay £85 costs.
Edward Butler, 36, of Fifth Avenue, Portsmouth, admitted theft of a jacket in West Hendred on March 19. Eight other offences taken into consideration. Jailed for four months “because of the nature and seriousness of the offence and offence committed while on bail”.
Kenneth Biddle, 62, of Arlington Drive, Marston, admitted drink driving in Dents Close, Marston, on May 18. Namely having 57 micro-grammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath. Above the legal limit of 35 microgrammes. Fined £300, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Banned from driving for a year.
Bryn Barrick, 40, of Grays Road, Oxford, admitted being drunk and disorderly in St Aldate’s, Oxford, on May 18. Given a six-month conditional discharge.
Emma Craft, 21, of Lyden Road, Oxford, convicted of assault by beating in Oxford on June 12, 2010. Given a 12-month supervision order and told to do 200 hours’ unpaid work. Also told to pay £75 compensation and £125 costs.
Ian Telfer, 39, of Botley Road, Oxford, admitted shoplifting a digi box from Tesco in Oxford on May 13 and commission of a further offence while subject to a suspended prison sentence. Fined £50, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £35 costs. Operational period of suspended sentence extended by two months because “the court feels that it would be unjust to activate the sentence in this case due to good progress that has been made by providing negative drug samples. A custodial sentence would result in the defendant relapsing”.
Andrew Tanner, 52, of Victoria Road, Bournemouth, convicted of shoplifting a tweed jacket valued at £129 from Marks & Spencer in Oxford on March 22 and admitted commission of a further offence while subject to a conditional discharge. Given a two-year exclusion order from Marks & Spencer in Queen Street and told to pay £50 costs.
Adrian Ryan, 23, of Astrop Lane, Littlemore, admitted intentionally causing harassment, alarm or distress by using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour in Oxford on March 26. Given 12 months’ supervision and told to attend the Control of Violence for Angry, Impulsive Drinkers course for 10 days. Also told to pay £65 costs.
Carl Hobbs, 47, of Thames View, Abingdon, convicted of assaulting Pc Bleach in Abingdon on Boxing Day. Fined £400, a £15 victims’ surcharge, £400 compensation and £750 costs.
