IT is hard to believe that the idea of a half marathon in Oxford has not caught on properly before.

Ours is an ideal city to appreciate on foot and it was wonderful to see so many runners supporting the event.

The route quite rightly took in both the picture postcard views of Oxford ‘Gown’ as well as the ‘Town’ side of the city.

It would be fantastic for the half marathon to grow in size and profile over the next few years.

We have already seen some promising first steps towards making it a major annual event.
