With the disappointment of defeat in their opening game Faringdon were looking to get their season started against Kidlington and it was not long before they found the net when Leon Redwood-Hanson finished calmly following a good interception from Joe Johnson.
Kidlington quickly reminded Faringdon that there were two teams in the game and scored an equaliser. Dan Tischer, who is beginning to find his feet in the centre of the Faringdon midfield, then fed Joe Johnson to put Faringdon back in the lead. Faringdon were playing well and showing some promising attacking play, when Joe Johnson grabbed his second goal of the match to make it 3-1. However Kidlington were not giving up and pulled a goal back before half-time to make it 3-2. The Kidlington goal scorers were Kieron Kilcoyne and Alex Wallace.
The second half started well for Faringdon with Benji Procter taking a quick throw to Ryan Carney who made a good run to set-up Joe Johnson to grab his first hat-trick. However Joe wasn’t finished there and he scored his fourth goal of the game with a good solo run.
Both teams kept going all the way to the end of the game and there could easily have been more goals but there was just one more for Faringdon when Patrick Noakes grabbed his first goal of the season to make the final score 6-2.
