ORGANISERS of a much-loved literary festival in King’s Sutton have called time on the event.
The King’s Sutton Literary Festival has been running for eight years and has attracted thousands of book lovers.
It was a celebration of books in the spring time and featured writing workshops, book stalls and discussions.
Crime writer PD James, actor and director Sir Derek Jacobi and historian Peter Hennessy have all appeared over the years.
Festival organiser Rona Rowe said: “From my perspective, it was right for me to say goodbye and when I spoke to the committee we agreed we had given it our best.
“I am greatly sad to say goodbye, but just because one is sad to say goodbye does not mean that one should not say goodbye.
“The last festival was fantastic and we have made our contribution.
“We have shown others that it is possible and we have created a space for something new to come forward.
“I would like to thank all the people who have contributed and supported us over the years. We were the big society at its best.”
