A Headington girl will be hoping diners get curried away with donations to her charitable cause.
Natasha Seneviratne, pictured, 15, has set up a charity dinner to raise funds for her trip to Kenya next year. Catered by local restaurant Jamal’s on Walton Street, the two-course meal is being served at Headington Girls School where she is a pupil.
Natasha said: “I am going to Kenya to help local people. I decided to do it because I am in quite a privileged position and I wanted to make a difference.
“A few of my friends are coming. We’ll do low-level construction and teaching. I’m looking forward to the dinner and the trip.”
She has to raise a total of £3,500 to cover the cost of her trip, organised by Camps International, which organises expeditions to the developing world.
The charity dinner plan struck Natasha while she was brainstorming fundraising ideas.
The dinner on Friday, September 30, will feature a raffle draw and a food voucher auction.
Tickets are £15 and can be obtained at Natasha’s website natashainkenya.webeden.co.uk
