David Jackson has taken over as headteacher at a Wallingford infants school.
The married father-of-two took the top job at St Nicholas Infant and Nursery School, in St Nicholas Road, at the start of term two weeks ago.
Before Mr Jackson’s appointment, Susan Callow was acting headteacher for about a year. She has now been appointed deputy headteacher.
The 180-pupil school’s ‘outstanding’ Ofsted assessment from 2007 was reaffirmed in an interim assessment in January.
Mr Jackson, who formerly taught in High Wycombe, said staff at the school worked tirelessly for the pupils and the community.
He added: “My philosophy is that if children, teachers, governors and parents work together then anything is possible.”
