Four-year-old Zoe Morris gets help with the finishing touches to her paper lantern after a Chinese-themed story-telling workshop.
Children gathered in the Barefoot Books Studio in Banbury Road, Summertown, on Wednesday to hear the Chinese story Lin Yi’s Lantern.
After the reading the children made paper lanterns.
Workshop leader Jo Kelsey said: “We want to engage kids with creativity.
“Reading books is not just about sitting around and reading, it is about bringing the words to life.”
The event was held to coincide with The Chinese Moon Festival, a harvest celebration, which is currently taking place.
Store manager Gautam Bhasin said: “It is very important to open up the imagination of little kids and expose them to the diversity of this world.”
