Goring Robins U9s 1 Crowmarsh Youth U9s 3 Goring started brightly, with their efforts typified by the energy of Ludo Fawcett and tackling of Ted Spencer. Connor Smith was putting in a man of the match performance with a number of well timed interceptions and tackles at the heart of the defence, before Richard Lloyd and Will Graham went close to breaking the deadlock.
However, as the referee looked about to blow for half time, Crowmarsh scored from a great flowing move with the last kick of the half.
The goal put the wind in Crowmarsh’s sails, with two further goals in as many minutes early in the second half. One of these was from a basic error in the Robins defence. The goals included a second for Keelan Morris.
Tristan Evers came on and with Ethan Dodd asserting himself more, Goring regained their composure and put Crowmarsh on the back-foot. Harry Purdy saw a shot to the bottom corner turned round the post, before Lloyd turned the last man and coolly slipped the ball past the goalie to make it 3-1 just before the end.

Stone, Will Wakelam and Harry Kirk went close to adding a second before Crowmarsh showed any sign of putting the Goring defence under pressure.
Crowmarsh raised their game as the half wore on, but the well organised and sprightly defence of Lois Joslyn and Oliver Minihan were more than up to the challenge at the back.
The second half continued where the first left off, with George Brinson and Tom Graham in the thick of the action. Charlie Masters shot just wide from a Minihan through ball, before Wakelam scored from close range following a cross from Stone. Stone then played through Masters, who curled the ball round the advancing goalkeeper to make it 3-0.
Goring comfortably played out the match, with two fabulous headers from Minihan repelling the last of the Crowmarsh attacks.
