Barton made the breakthrough when Harry Wheeldon gave the home side the advantage, but Ardington not to be outdone scored an equaliser straight from the resulting kick off.
Barton pressed hard and went in to the break 2-1 up after Wheeldon scored his second just before the break.In the second half Barton kept Ardington under pressure and Wheeldon bagged his hat trick, closely followed by a Jack Gifford strike to make it 4-1.
Some good goal keeping from the Ardington keeper kept Barton out but Ben Prior hit a left foot strike from distance to lob the keeper and make the final score 5-1, maintaining Barton's lead at the top.
