ACCORDING to the story you printed, Oxford City Council say that it is unsafe to cross St. Giles via the traffic lights to use the toilets.
What the council did not say is that they think it is safe to use the same route to get to the taxi rank on the same road island.
The true reason for the closure is that the city council only get pennies from toilet users, not pounds from the taxi drivers’ licences.
The citizens of Oxford and tourists wish the toilets re-opened despite what the council say.
May I remind the city council that they are the servants of the citizens of Oxford, not their masters.
