TWO Oxford mums gave a sweet surprise to residents at an Oxford care home.
Julia Atkinson and Linda Williams visited the Isis Care Home in Cornwallis Road, Cowley, to chat to residents and hand out a treat to mark National Cupcake week.
The pair, both mothers of two from Summertown, set up their business Happy Cakes two years ago after giving up work in catering and business management to become full-time mothers.
The friends have even received some celebrity endorsement.
A tired David Walliams scoffed two of the cakes during a break from his 140-mile Thames charity swim.
Ms Atkinson said the residents had been happy to see them.
She said: “We chose the care home because it was where my mother-in-law stayed when she broke her leg during the very snowy winter. She thought it was an appropriate way to say thanks.”
Ms Atkinson said the business was doing well despite the credit crunch.
