JUST one week into her stay in the Big Brother house, Oxford hopeful Tashie Jackson is already up eviction.
Tonight she faces the embarrassing prospect of being booted out first, in front of five million viewers.
One of 14 housemates “competing” for the £100,000 Big Brother prize money, former St Edward’s School pupil Tashie, 21, is a gymnast, belly dancer and appeared in Harry Potter as a creature who killed with her beauty.
But it seems her good looks have done little to charm her housemates – former Baywatch star Pamela Anderson failed to grant her immunity from this week’s public vote.
A phenomenon first screened in Britain in 2000, the aim for contestants of Big Brother is to survive weekly “evictions”.
The last remaining person in the house scoops the cash and the infamy that accompanies it.
Would-be Hollywood actress Tashie insisted she “knew it” when she was put up for eviction, and promptly burst into tears.
But one of her friends, Oxford City Stars Ice Hockey player Marlon Williams, said he believes she will battle through.
“It’s a shock she has been put up for eviction, but I don’t think she will go. She is too talented for that,” he said.
“I’ve known Tashie since we were at school and because we are both keen to become actors, we met again on acting jobs and became friends.
“I wasn’t surprised to see her turn up in Big Brother. I knew she wanted to go in there and although it is a really closely guarded secret if you get in, she kind of disappeared off the radar and then she was there – walking about in the Big Brother house.”
Tashie literally thrust herself into the limelight this week – giving her housemates a belly dancing masterclass.
Asked how he thinks the young starlet is coming across, Mr Williams said: “The thing about Big Brother though is you are edited in the way Big Brother wants you to be and unfortunately Tashie is coming over as a bit desperate. But she is not like that at all; Although she is only 21 she is very confident and has loads more talent than a lot of people in there. She’s a singer, dancer and actor and even being around people like Pamela Anderson won’t faze her.”
Mr Williams said Tashie also has solid support in Oxford.
“On Facebook last night I saw her friends creating “Save Tashie in the House” pages. A lot of people want her to do well and I think she will – with or without Big Brother.”
Tashie is up for eviction alongside Aaron Allard-Morgan and Harry Blake. The results of the public vote will be announced on Big Brother tonight on Channel Five at 9pm.
