A TEENAGER has been given her chance to bring the house down in a national singing competition.
Bryony Gibbs, 16, from Filkins, made it through to the regional finals of Open Mic UK 2011 at the NEC in Birmingham and is competing for a place in the national final at London’s O2 arena.
The Burford School pupil, who has been singing since she was four and wants to become a professional singer, said: “It’s a bit weird to think I have now got the opportunity to sing at the NEC. My friends are pretty excited to come and see me.
“I have put loads of work into it.”
To get through to the regional final, Bryony sang Angel by Sarah McLachlan.
Bryony’s regional final at the NEC is on October 29.
The national winner will be offered a recording contract with up to £30,000 investment.
