We have had several wars, hundreds of thousands of innocents slain, rendition and torture, (aligned with Colonel Gaddafi), lies and hypocrisy!
And now, a devastating end to the Iraq Abuse Inquiry that talks of “serious gratuitous violence” and “violent and cowardly abuse”.
Strong words from an establishment man, (Sir William Gage), about a rotten and corrupt system that includes politicians, media, police and now the military.
If someone receives a prison sentence for stealing a bottle of water, what sentence is suitable for beating an innocent man to death?
No one doubts the bravery of soldiers forced into these theatres of war and I don’t actually blame soldiers in these dreadful situations, I blame the cowardly politicians and top military bosses that lead to these war crimes.
History has taught us that invading other people’s countries will always be followed by this type of behaviour.
No doubt a few poor squaddies will take the fall, the real perpetrators safe in the comfort of the Ministry of Defence.
With another 150 cases pending, it seems more than ‘a few bad apples’, doesn’t it?
It’s pretty obvious to most that we are in far more danger now, than at any time in our history.
