AYFC's first game of the season and they welcomed Goring to a windy Lambrick Way. AYFC started well and Goring were on the back foot and had their Keeper to thank for with some fine saves.
Deadlock was broken 12 minutes into the game when a corner from Brian McCarron was parried into the net from the Goring Keeper.
Will Woodley doubled AYFC's lead 2 minutes later with a well taken volley from 8 yards after Goring partially cleared Brian McCarron's corner. AYFC went to sleep then and Goring were out playing them with Rowena Hearn causing problems in the AYFC defence, her persistence paid off when she headed into an empty net after a mix up in the AYFC box.
Half time AYFC 2-1 Goring.
Second half and AYFC needed to up their game and they did as Will Woodley and Connor Woodward at the heart of the defence held firm and the trio of Brian McCarron ,Josh Harper and Marc Addison pressed forward to put Goring under a lot of pressure.
Marc Addison had a shot tipped over the bar after a one two with Louis Kogel, but AYFC could not find the third goal until Brian McCarron got his second goal with 8 minutes to go when he broke free of his defender and coolly slotted home from 6 yards.
