COULD somebody please tell me why Sainsbury’s is so interested in having a store in Cowley where the present B&Q is?
They had a store in Cowley years ago, where the present Wilkinsons is, and I remember at that time a spokesman for Sainsbury’s saying: “Having a store in Cowley as well as the Heyford Hill superstore is not a viable option”.
This is why the Cowley store vanished.
Now Sainburys want to get back into Cowley, even though the Heyford Hill superstore is nearing completion of its expansion programme.
Why? Sorry, I won’t be awarding any Nectar points for the correct answer.
