Teenager Jordan Walker had spent hours customising his bike and upgrading parts to get it just the way he wanted.
Unfortunately, it was just the way a thief wanted it as well, and it was pinched from outside Jordan’s home.
Jordan, 14, from Woodrush Gardens in Carterton, was given the bike by his mum last year for his birthday last year.
During the summer holidays he took it to be overhauled at a special bike restoration session, called ‘Pimp my bike’.
The event, at the Allandale Youth Centre in Carterton, was named after the TV show Pimp My Ride, in which people have their cars customised.
Jordan changed the wheels, converted it to single speed for dirt biking – which he loves – and gave it an orange and black paint job.
He said: “I loved it. It was my way of getting around and I had got it looking just how I wanted it.”
But on Wednesday, August 31, someone cut the bike’s lock and stole it from outside his home.
He said: “I was very annoyed, and I still am. Why can’t they get a bike of their own?”
He is borrowing his father’s bike, but it is not suitable for dirt biking and he has had to give up the extreme sport.
His mum, Denise Sadler, 45, said: “He was gutted after it was stolen.
“He had worked so hard on it and he was chuffed after he had done it up. I am really angry that someone would do this.”
Police urged anyone who has seen the distinctive orange and black machine to contact them on 08458 505505.
