A bumper crowd of more than 8,000 was entertained on and off the pitch at Oxford United on Saturday.
A family fun day co-ordinated by club sponsor Bridle Insurance saw events in and around the ground as well as reduced ticket prices.
Lifelong fan Olive Elliott, 97, who now has to follow the club through the Oxford Mail, was on her first visit to the Kassam Stadium.
Mrs Elliott, from Yarnton, said: “It was a very good afternoon and I enjoyed it.”
Of the team’s performance, which saw them throw away a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 against Burton Albion, she added: “I think they need pull their socks up a bit.”
Elsewhere on Saturday, Sky Sports’ Take it like a Fan gameshow was filmed at the club and regulars at the Priory pub took part in a bungee jump in aid of disabled toddler Charlotte Nott. See tomorrow’s paper for a full report on the fundraising.
