Two men were killed after their car hit a tree and caught fire, police believe.
Emergency services were called to the A4130 near Bix in south Oxfordshire at 4am this morning after a blue Toyota Celica travelling in the direction of Oxford, left the road and collided with a tree.
Sgt Jack Hawkins of the Road Death Investigation Team based at Bicester said: “The identities of the two occupants of the vehicle are not known at this time, but it is believed to be two men. Our enquiries are on-going to confirm their identities.
“At this time the road remains closed and will do for some time until our investigation into the collision is finished.
“I would like to speak to anyone who was travelling along the A4130 at the time of the incident, who may have seen the car travelling along the road, or who may have seen it leaving the road and colliding with the tree.”
Anyone with information should police on 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
