Fancy seeing a photo you took in the Oxford Mail?
One was snapped on a mobile phone by an eagle-eyed reader the moment a Harrier jump jet crashed in a field near Kidlington on July 14 - and appeared on our front page.
That same month, two other photographs captured on phones and cameras by readers were used on the front page of the Oxford Mail. One featured a child standing in a flooded street after a huge rainfall in the space of just two hours. The other was of a lightning bolt which struck Oxfordshire during a stormy night at the end of July.
Now we want YOU to send in the photos you capture on your phones and cameras to give your fellow readers the big picture about what is going on in the county.
You'll be joining the hordes of so-called citizen journalists which have impacted on both national and local newspapers in recent years providing graphic images of events as they unfold because of the digital revolution. The trend began with the bombing of the World Trade Center towers five years ago when people caught up in the devastation sent in images taken on mobile phones.
Other examples include the Tsunami in South East Asia and the flooding of New Orleans last year. Closer to home, hundreds of people took images of the destruction caused by the July 7 bombings in London last year when suicide bombers destroyed trains on the London underground and a bus.
To be a part of making the news in the Oxford Mail, all you need is a mobile phone that takes pictures or video clips and to be in the right place at the right time. If you see it and snap it, we want it.
We can also accept pictures and video images taken on cameras to use on www.oxfordmail.net So if you see a news story breaking in front of your eyes, snap it on your phone and send it to 07834 487010 and it could appear in the Oxford Mail and on the website the very next day. You can also email pictures and video clips from a digital camera to yourpix@nqo.com.
