I TOOK my grandchildren to one of my favourite places in Oxford – Florence Park.
They took their bats and ball as I told them there was a table tennis table by the tennis courts.
We started to play but were stopped by the guy in the kiosk and told that we would have to pay £8.50 for the four of us, two adults, two children, to use the table. What a rip-off! The Government will not encourage exercise if we have to pay these prices. We did not pay as they get tired after about 15 to 20 minutes.
I have been told that, in France they have many of these tables free of charge. Take note, Oxford City Council. It’s not all about money.
