Wetherspoon’s is to close its The Swan and Castle pub at Oxford Castle tomorrow in a bid to prevent a planned gathering of the Oxford branch of the English Defence League.
The anti-Islamic group planned to meet there in advance of a London rally next weekend, but the pub company said the pub would close from 2.30pm to 6pm to prevent any meeting.
