VISITORS and residents in Wallingford can hear its history as they walk around the town.
The Wallingford Partnership has bought 30 audio guides after it secured £18,000 in grants from Oxfordshire Rural Community Council, South Oxfordshire District Council and Wallingford Town Council.
The volunteer group piloted the scheme two months ago with three MP3 players but decided to invest £1,000 after it proved popular.
Member Lynda Atkins, also Oxfordshire County Council member for Wallingford, said: “We just did not have enough for everybody that wanted to borrow them, so we invested in a lot more.”
The MP3 players are available from the Town Information Centre.
