Oxford University postgraduate student Sandira Gayadeen has been awarded a £10,000 scholarship from the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).
The scholarships are part of the IET awards and scholarships programme, which provides £200,000 each year to support young people in their engineering and technology studies.
Ms Gayadeen will use the cash for research as she works towards her doctorate having started a DPhil in Engineering Science in October last year.
She said: “I am excited to be able to use this opportunity to exchange ideas with other engineers and scientists. I hope to continue developing solutions to challenging problems.”
