A 59-YEAR-OLD man from Leicester has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving in a crash on Oxfordshire's A34 dual carriageway in which a family was killed.
The arrest is in connection with the crash on July 31, when four members of the Dowling family, from Lichfield, Staffordshire, were killed in a seven-vehicle crash on the northbound carriageway, at the Islip junction near Bicester.
Malcolm Dowling, 46, his wife Janice, 42, and their sons, Richard, 16 and George, 11, died in the crash.
They were on their way home to Lichfield, Staffordshire, after a family holiday in Brittany.
The family died when their Peugeot 307 was caught up in in the pile-up involving a car transporter, a lorry and four cars.
More than 500 people packed into a church for their funeral in Lichfield last month.
The man was arrested on Sundayand has been released on police bail until October 23, pending further police enquiries.
