FOUR men have been arrested after a street fight in East Oxford.
Police were called to the entrance to the Reliance Way estate, off Cowley Road, at about 11pm on Sunday to what officers described as violent disorder involving a “large group” of people.
Up to 20 people are thought to have been involved.
A blue people carrier had its window smashed but nobody is thought to have been injured during the fight.
Two 20-year-olds, a 22-year-old and a 23-year-old were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and were still in police custody last night.
Thames Valley Police spokesman Chris Kearney said: “There have been some reports of screwdrivers being involved but none of the four people we arrested were found in possession of any kind of weapon.
“The neighbourhood team have been in the area going house to house asking if people saw anything.
“They will also be working with the community to see if there are any underlying tensions that may have caused this.”
Anyone with any information about the incident can call Thames Valley Police on 08458 505505 or the Crimestoppers line anonymously on 0800 555111.
