Witney plasterer Ian Moss has joined three other Oxfordshire players in qualifying for the Speedy Hire UK Open, which begins on June 2.
Manchester United fan Moss came through his Rileys UK Open qualifier to join Jon Jukes (Oxford) and Stuart White and Martin Perring, from Banbury, in the UK Open field.
Moss won his heat at Rileys in Reading and is hoping to make an impact when he takes to the stage in Bolton against another qualifier, Jamie Ellam.
The Witney man is among 32 qualifiers ready to compete against some of professional darts’ big names on live TV in one of the top events on the sport’s calendar.
Moss said: “This gives amateurs an opportunity to win a place in the UK Open and play against the professionals.
“I’m looking forward to my match. I’m all hyped up for it and I believe I can go on to cause an upset in this tournament.”
The UK Open runs from June 2-5 in the Premier Suite at the Reebok Stadium in Bolton, and will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.
