JHP Training is a national training provider, specialising in Apprenticeship and NVQ delivery across the country.
One apprentice who has benefited from JHP Training is 20-year-old, Jodie Herbert from Oxfordshire. Jodie has transformed from a shy individual to a confident leader and deputy manager of a local nursery thanks to her Apprenticeship with JHP Training.
Jodie knew that she wanted to work with children from a young age and enrolled in a local college and completed her Level 2 Apprenticeship in Child Care. She decided that she wanted to gain further experience of the child care industry and continue her studies in a work-based learning environment.
Jodie applied for a position with Rainbow’s Day Nursery at Bridge Wharf, Banbury, in July 2008 as a nursery assistant. She was accepted with ambitions to complete her Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Children’s Care Learning and Development at the Nursery.
When JHP Training first met with Jodie, she was a shy person who was hesitant to take on new responsibilities and was unsure of herself and her capabilities. JHP Training was supportive of Jodie and recognised her potential to really develop herself and make a positive contribution to the nursery. With the support of JHP Training and her manager Annie, Jodie was successfully placed onto her Apprenticeship programme with Rainbow Day Nursery to complete her Level 3 qualification.
Throughout her Apprenticeship programme, Jodie has grown both personally and professionally.
JHP training assessor Karena Gilbert explained: “Jodie has really transformed now, thanks to her Apprenticeship, from the person she was before to the person she is now is really amazing and it has been really rewarding to see her achievements.”
Jodie completed her Apprenticeship in September 2010 and her qualification and new-found confidence was recently rewarded by her manager.
Jodie was promoted to a deputy manager within the nursery and is really enjoying her responsibilities and new position.
As a result of her Advanced Apprenticeship with JHP Training, Jodie is responsible for the management of staff at a large nursery in Oxfordshire – as well as managing the children! She has taken on her own section within the nursery which she has embraced confidently and effectively.
Anne Richards, manager of Rainbow’s Day Nursery said: “Jodie has been unbelievable in the amount of commitment she has shown and the additional responsibilities she has taken on.
“The Advanced Apprenticeship in Children’s Care Learning and Development has really benefited her and the support from her assessor Karena was personal and helped her development.
“I am very proud of Jodie and looking forward to seeing her progress further,” Anne added.
Jodie is committed to her learning and career progression and is now looking in to doing her Early Years Foundation Degree at Rainbow’s Day Nursery.
