OXFORD is about to become the UK’s murder capital again as TV detective drama Lewis returns to the small screen.
And father-of-two Paul Hunt, 66, will be glued to the screen as tomorrow’s episode, Old, Unhappy, Far Off Things, begins on ITV at 8pm tomorrow night.
Mr Hunt, 66, won an Oxford Mail competition to be an extra in the episode, which stars Juliet Stevenson alongside regulars Kevin Whately and Laurence Fox, pictured with Mr Hunt, left.
Mr Hunt, from Hurst Close, Wallingford, said: “I will be recording the episode for posterity.
“I was given a non-speaking role as a don appearing with some female students, walking across the quad at Lady Margaret Hall. I was there most of the day for the filming and it made me realise what a painstaking process it is to make these dramas.”
Locations used in the new four-part series, filmed last year, include the River Thames near Folly Bridge in Oxford and the former USAF airbase at Upper Heyford, near Bicester.
