Sir – Is it only the people of Kennington who have to put up with frequent deliveries of other people’s mail put through their letterbox?
On an almost weekly basis, sometimes twice a week, I get mail for a dwelling in The Avenue, while I live in Poplar Grove; this mail includes confidental items such as bank statements.
Only last week my council tax bill was delivered to The Avenue. It was sent out on March 11, and I received it on the 20th.
I have spoken to two other people on the subject who tell me that they get mail for Poplar Grove, while they live in Meadow View Road; another person living in Links Road, receives mail for St Swithun’s Road.
I contacted Royal Mail, but only received a standard apology, which acheived nothing, as only this morning I had to chase after the postman and give him his mail back; incidentally, it was the same one that misdelivered my mail last week.
R. Crewdson, Kennington
