OXFORD United season ticket holder Colin Costar said being this week’s Oxford Mail Face in the Crowd winner was the “icing on the cake”.
The 54-year-old builder was picked out by our photographer during Sunday’s 3-0 victory over Burton Albion at the Kassam Stadium.
Mr Costar, of Nye Bevan Close, in East Oxford, said he would put his £75 prize towards his season ticket for next season.
The win left United just three points off a play-off place in nPower League 2.
He said: “I knew I had been picked, because I got so many phone calls from friends.
“I’m chuffed with the money. I have two weeks left to get my season ticket at the renewal price, so this has come at a great time.
“It was a good win on Sunday and the money was the icing on the cake.
“We can definitely make the play-offs this year. I had £50 on Oxford winning the league, which isn’t going to happen, but I would take promotion any day.”
