Walking around the city centre recently, I have been appalled by a spate of vandalism. Ordinarily it is hard to track down the culprits of this sort of antisocial behaviour, but on this occasion it is very easy to identify those behind the action.
I speak of the posters and flyers that were stuck up across the city by the Oxfordshire Anti-Cuts Alliance in support of the march arranged by the TUC.
These posters were pasted to lamp-posts, empty shop units, bus shelters, and bank cashpoints.
Who will pay for the clear-up? We all do.
This illegal behaviour is a cost to local businesses and taxpayers. Surely these costs should all be passed on to the Anti-Cuts Alliance and the TUC? It was their agents who are blighting this city with illegal fly-posting.
Whether or not we supported the idea of the protest in London, it is not acceptable for this vandalism to go unpunished.
