IMAGES of Cowley past and present lit up the night sky over the weekend as part of an innovative art project.
Portraits of residents and archive footage was beamed on to Hockmore Tower above Templars Square shopping centre between 7pm and 10pm on Friday and Saturday night.
The I, Cowley project, co-ordinated by Fusion Arts, was funded with a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Researchers spent a year collecting oral histories from residents of all ages, while photographer Giles Davis captures images of the people who live and work in Cowley today.
Clay Sinclair, 42, who has an art studio in Crowell Road and was photographed for the project, brought his family to Templars Square to see his image being beamed on to the towerblock.
Mr Sinclair said: “It was a fantastic night out, and a great celebration of the history of Cowley.
“It really got the community involved in the project.”
