A public inquiry will be held in June over controversial plans by Tesco to open an Express store on the site of the former Fox and Hounds pub.
The plan to demolish the former Abingdon Road pub was rejected by Oxford City Council in December.
Tesco appealed and the Planning Inspectorate will make a decision after hearing evidence at the inquiry, due to start on June 8. No venue has yet been announced.
The pub shut in 2007 and was damaged in a July 2009 fire. A June 2010 Tesco application was also turned down by the council.
