MAGISTRATES have given police more time to question a man over the murder of a Swindon woman whose body was found in Oxfordshire and another death.
Magistrates at Swindon, Wiltshire, gave Wiltshire Police more time to question the man, named locally as Chris Halliwell, over the death of Sian O'Callaghan.
Officers will be able to hold the man until 3.15pm on Monday.
The 22-year-old's body was found in a remote countryside ditch near Uffington on Thursday at about 5.20pm.
Police said they were acting on information given by the 47-year-old man in custody.
Officers are still searching land on the Oxfordshire/Gloucestershire border for a second body based on information given by the suspect.
They said they are searching for a person who went missing “several years ago”.
Miss O'Callaghan went missing after a night out in Swindon.
At 2.52am she is caught on CCTV leaving the Suju club in the High Street. The flat she shared with her boyfriend, Kevin Reape, 25, is half a mile away.
